FALL Inspired Decor
Posted by Laura Ramsey on 21st Oct 2013
As a designer I love using seasonal colors to inspire my designs, and getting the opportunity to work with a homeowner who loves color was perfect, and I used many Fall inspired colors throughout the home. Each room has it’s own unique look and purpose, but the color scheme gives continuity throughout the entire house. This home to a family of four needed a space that was charming, while allowing for comfortable living for their active lifestyles.
Family Room
I love the color scheme of this family room. The combination of red, brown, and green creates an earthy yet vibrant feel. I used Lee Industries sofas (1) and a leather chair (2), Two Visual Comfort Barley Twist Lamps (3) and Vervain fabric for the draperies (4). An antique shutter (5), Laura Ramsey Interiors pillows (6), and candle sticks (7) add finishing touches to this family room.
Dining Room
This dining room is the perfect mix between formal dining and casual entertaining. Furnished with Lee Industries benches (1) and chairs covered in Pindler and Pindler fabric (2) allow for plenty of room for the weekly Sunday dinners they enjoy with family. I completed this dining room with Lee Jofa fabric for the draperies (3) and a table (4) and mirror (5) from Laura Ramsey Interiors.
Living Room
This large basement living room is a great place for the family to spend time together. Lee Industries chairs (1) and sofa (2) in neutral tones are complete with pops of color from Laura Ramsey Interiors green and floral pillows (3) and Lee Jofa plaid fabric covered pillows (4). The coffee table (5) and chunky side tables (6) from Laura Ramsey Interiors add substance while the table lamp (7) and floor lamps (8) bring color and light into the room.
Study
I love the elegance of this study. The Fabricut linen draperies (1) and Ralph Lauren table skirt (2) soften the feel of this room. I accessorized with a Charlie West lamp (3), Lee Jofa pillow (4), and one of my favorite rugs by Soumak (5) to tie in the cream and brown.
I had so much fun working with this client. Her love of color reflects her personality. The classic design of these rooms will allow them to stay in style for years to come. Now on to our next project for these homeowners, creating a cozy and inviting guestroom. Stay tuned for our next blog post!
